day 169
I am in a funk, I have been all day. No real reason, it happens. Working out didn't even snap me out of it. I think its because I got into trouble yesterday and I am not losing weight as fast as I would like (I miss when I was in my 20s and could drop 5 lbs by walking up a flight of stairs) I will be better tomorrow. Its all good. Nothing else to report, gonna go watch Idol and go to bed.

day 168 Didn't We Almost Have it All
I honestly forgot about Valentine’s Day, so it was very uneventful. Well, I take that back, I did get into trouble at work for gossiping. I am not going to gossip about gossiping so this story ends now. Oh and I did get to witness an argument in the parking lot of my apartments, this girl was screaming at her man for always having to pay for everything, I am guessing she didn't get roses. And I returned a movie to the Red Box. Oh I did get a box of chocolates from Lori, she gave everyone boxes, thanks for throwing me off of my diet. So that sums it up, I did get a text from this guy who I met at Tooties's while with MB, but that was yesterday and he quickly annoyed me, so I hit the eject button. I honestly don't think I have any memories of Valentine’s Day, the only one that comes to mind was with my ex ex boyfriend, Adam, who gave me white roses from Publix. He felt the need to tell me that he switched the price tag from cheaper flowers with the ones that he bought, so he wouldn’t have to pay as much. Basically, he stole flowers that meant "remembrance" in honor of his love for me. I think that was his way of saying he will remember me fondly, as he broke up with me shortly after, shortly after he cheated on me, oh woe is me. Ha, that is funny, ok well it’s all good, I don’t need no stinkin man, I have my health. Ok well time for beddy! Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

day 167 Queen of the Night
Well I fast forwarded through about 85% of the Grammys, I thought it was kinda lame.\What happen to the times when Janet Jackson, Eminem, Kid Rock, Madonna, Christina and Brittany were bringing down the house with amazing get up get up and get down performances? Now the only person really breakin it down is Chris "girl beater" Brown? (who was pretty awesome BTW) I mean, I am all for Cold Play and Paul McCartney....but come on…snoozefest! And don’t get me started on Talentless Swift. It was all very tame and mediocre.....that is until Jennifer Hudson sang I Will Always Love you and tears squirted out my eyeballs. She nailed it! Bravo Jennifer! Her voice was and is amazing, all while fighting back tears, I have no idea how she pulled that one off, loved it!!
While I am rippin on music, I just got back from the gym, I was doing some sit-ups to Biz Markie. How in the world was that song so popular?? Oh Baby You, You Got What I Need, sucks! It’s horrible, yet I owned the single tape version and played it all the time.
Anyway, I would like to discuss the interview the owner of the company and the production manager had with a potential employee on Friday. During the interview a gigantic rat runs across the floor! A freakin rat scurries across the floor, probably just as they were asking him about his strengths and weaknesses. Ben jumps up and yells “ah sh*t!” and Rob reportedly had never moved so fast. I am not quite sure what the interviewee was doing, but WTF! I thought my rat drama was over, but they opened the office door and let him run down the hall, nowhere to be found and now I have to start eating my lunch in my car. Now, don't get me wrong, we have a nice clean office, but we are connected to a humungous warehouse that stores people’s furniture while their houses are being restored. Hard telling what we are bringing in, so I am sure the rat just walked right on in. GROSS!!! I am so curious if this guy will show his face for a 2nd interview.
Some people are disgusting, we have dealt with hoarders lately, I have seen some nasty pictures of crap just piled up to the ceiling and drenched from a pipe bursting in the basement. My flooring guy just told me about this lady (not one of our customers) who had millions of roaches; she just sat in her wheel chair and watched them crawl all over the floor. The flooring guys told her to have them cleared out by the time they got back so they could lay the floor, she didn’t and they couldn’t’ get rid of them. So they just covered them up with the new vinyl. Um, ok, so there are live roaches sealed under this ladies new vinyl and she is just gonna roll right over them in her chair? Nothing shocks me anymore.
On that note, I am going to go clean something.

day 166 "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" cause "I'm Every Woman"
Had a good day, now I am watching more coverage on Dateline of Whitney. Watching her career in a nutshell has brought me back to my childhood, I remember singing one of her songs in the 8th grade choir. Yes, somehow someone let me in a choir, it’s very puzzling, but at least I have that memory. (did they feel sorry for me or were they borderline deaf?)
Today’s events included church, shopping, cooking a massive pot of cabbage soup (with ground turkey and bacon this time). I rented 50/50, it’s about a guy who has cancer and since Seth Rogan was in it, I thought it was going to a funny movie about cancer, turns out there is no such thing. Note to self, stay away from movies about cancer. My mom is the only one who can make cancer funny, she somehow keeps it light, laughs at herself and her chemo-brain. So next time I want to laugh, I will just give her a call. Wow, between the death of Whitney and the cancer movie, I think I need to lighten it up around here.....come on Grammys!

day 165 crack is wack
Wow, I thought me getting all dressed up and nowhere to go again was the headline news but Whitney Houston stole my thunder. Poor thing, it’s such a waste, she was so amazing and that stupid thug Bobby Brown came into her life and flat out, straight up, no questions asked, ruined it. I was such a huge fan, along with all of America, we adored her, her talent and then she went down, down hard with that asshole. How in the world did that happen??? I remember running into her and Bobby Brown at The Palm in Atlanta many years ago, she was sickly thin and I remember feeling sorry for her. What a waste. I will always remember her fondly when I listen to her songs. Sarah informed me of this news and I immediately flashed back to the time when Sarah and I were having dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant and looking up at the screen, seeing the words Michael Jackson died in huge letters on CNN. That was wild and this is crazy. We expect DMX or Lil Wayne to die of drug use, but Whitney? It’s such a shame. I think I am gonna sing I will always love you the next time I am on stage as a tribute to Whitney; she was so awesome pre-Bobby Brown.
Ok back to me getting all dressed up with nowhere to go. I literally had my boots on, purse in hand, waiting on Ben to pick me up and I get a call. The ticket he bought for me was in the freakin student section, he bought his bro the same ticket, his bro was at the stadium and they require a student ID to get in with a student ticket. Since I do not go to Vanderbilt it’s a problem. He was mad and insisted on finding me an adult ticket. I told him to not worry, I am fine not going, it is 27 degrees out and well I am ok with staying in. So here I am...stood up...again! Is anyone keeping count? I just took my mascara off and now watching a movie that has a one star rating...its cool, I will just get some extra much needed rest...RIP Whitney.

day 164 yes, I am back
What what! Had a smashing evaluation! My boss had nothing but good things to say! He loves my positive attitude and believes it to be infectious! He loves that I am never late (except for the first day, that Lori pointed out, yes I was 40 minutes late and she will apparently never let me forget that) he said he likes that I am eager to learn, a team player and he is pleasantly surprised with my performance. He said that he wants me to continue in the direction that I am going in and continue to train to be an exceptional employee. He said that he has noticed a progression in me since I started; I am not as timid on the phone, that my confidence has escalated and he really enjoys working with me. To sum up, a glowing evaluation, they took me off of hourly and put me as a salary employee, which means they are wanting me for the long hall. No more overtime, I am ok with that, although overtime was awesome, only good things can come out of being a salaried employee. I am gonna work hard and prove to be an asset to the company. YAY!
I ‘m now just chillin watching TV, cause tomorrow is gonna be a long day, I am going to the Kentucky/Vanderbilt game. Supposed to be like a college football fan day in Nashville (except for its basketball), so I am excited, especially since its free, KY is #1 and a rival of Vandy.. I know nothing about basketball and have a single ticket, so I will be sitting by myself…ha..guess I am gonna make some friends and just jump on the band wagon…I am not scared!

day 163 chew toys
Ok let me paint a little picture for you. I have a nasty habit of putting pens in my mouth while I’m at my desk. Today it wasn’t the usually clicky pen, this pen had a top on it, I had been chomping on it for a while so the top of the pen top came off and is now hollow. So I am hard at work on a repair estimate all while having this pen in my mouth. The office manager, Lori, comes up to my desk and is telling me something, I am now holding the pen and slowly turn it upside down. As she is talking, this enormous amount of saliva starts oozing out of the pen top onto my sweater. I didn’t notice at first and then I see her eyes open up bigger and bigger, I look down at it’s like this long thick rope of slobber slowly making its way from the pen down the front my turtle neck sweater. She is just says "Oh my gosh" and walks away. Wow. Seriously? Needless to say I was giggling for a good 30 minutes.
Ok I have to go prepare for my 90 day evaluation finally; well it was supposed to be a 90 day, now it’s more like a 120 day evaluation. I have to fill out this form stating my goals, my strengths and things I need to work on, how’s this:
Things I need to work on: stop chewing on pens
Strengths: the ability to realize the things I need to work onGoals: chew on pencils instead
Lori will be very impressed, I see a raise in my future.
