day 208 sicky suprise

There is a first time for everything!
So I am not feeling well today, throat hurts and body aches. I had plans with Chris tonight but called in sick. He said he understood and that maybe I will feel better tomorrow. I get home from work and there is a bag hanging on my door knob, with chicken noodle soup in it! He left me soup at my door!

*Pause for reaction*

Clinger sminger, I thought it was oh so sweet! I actually surprised myself by thinking it was so sweet. I think it’s because I was talking to Paul at work today and I was filling him in on things and telling him about my new dating partner. I told him that I think he might be getting a little clingy. I told him how he calls me just to talk, how he wants to take me on dates, how he is super complimentary, that he thinks I’m a hoot and I can be myself around him. Paul was like, "um that sounds just awful Stephanie, oh and BTW that is what they call dating." HA!

I guess he is right, this is how people who want to get to know each other better treat each other, it never occurred to me. I guess I am used to the hunt and this is pretty effortless. I mean I am always talking about how guys are so dumb and all they have to do is the littlest, simplest things to get my attention. I was always yelling at Gary about how it’s the little things that count and it’s the little things that make me smile. So guess what, 2 ready-to-eat bowls of Campbell’s Extra Chucky Chicken Noodle Soup hanging on my door in a Kroger bag....counts as a little thing! 2 points for Red Flag!

day 207 la-la-la-la---no!

Ok so the weekend in a nutshell:

Friday: Broadway, fun fun fun! I am digging the 2nd Fiddle! Chris decided we needed one last night on Broadway before we took a hiatus. Kelly, her roomie and the new couple from Philly made an appearance; we all had a blast.

Saturday: went hiking, awesome weather and good conversation while taking in some waterfalls. Then off to burn some trees at Brandy’s, we smoked two enormous Bradford Pears and I have the cuts and scrapes to show for it.

Sunday, laid on the couch all day, I was tired, no Easter celebration, just relaxation. I ate some M&Ms today to make up for no Easter baskets.

While we were hanging by the fire, the neighbors came over and pawned a dog on us. We saw this dog earlier in the night; he looked a lot like my Jake. Black half Lab/half Pit, but a large puppy, sooooo cute, so awesome and trained! The neighbors tell us we all have to take this dog in as a team, otherwise he was gonna get hit by a car. Um Um Um OK.  BUT he had a tag on with a name and number. We call the number and no one answered, so we texted the person and no answer. They finally text us back and said um it was too far for them to drive to come get him. WHAT?? Are you kidding me? My dog was once lost for 8 days and I would have doggie paddled across the Pacific to get him. So we all made a decision to adopt this dog. 1/3 of the time at my apartment, 1/3 at Brandy’s, 1/3 at the neighbors and then Chris stepped up as the uncle. The dog spent the night in Brandy’s room; he was such a good boy. The plan was for me to take him on Wednesday until Brandy put her fence in for the pool. In the meantime, she went and bought him treats, an electric collar, food etc. (she didn’t even want him, she is just that nice). I called her after spending all day Sunday  mentally preparing to take him, I told her to call the owners one last time just to see and they finally answered.L. They came and got him… oh and they live 4 houses down!! WTF! I am still confused. His name was Buford, so I was calling him Buford Highway and I really really wanted him, dangit! Oh well, not meant to be.

So now I am fighting off the fact that Chris is a potential stage 3 clinger. He is all about hanging out with me, I like him, but I need moderation! I am not instant-rebound-step-mom-material...he wanted to see me again tonight after WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY. I declined his offer tonight ,but accepted tomorrow, I don't know, whatever, if I hear him sing one note in my honor…. it’s over!

day 206 Happy Easter!

great weekend! Too tired to talk about it, tomorrow I will fill in the deets of the non-stop weekend and also talk about the 1/3 of a dog I almost adopted named Buford Highway. Good night!

day 205 been workin so hard, I'm punchin my card....

Another fun date with Red Flag, actually his name is Chris, but he is still in my phone as LOL, cause he is the ultimate LOL repeat offender. The boy loves to throw out lols in almost every text! I would call him out on it, but I already give him a hard time on everything else, so for now I am letting it slide. He loved my soft tacos, we had a nice dinner sitting on pillows and eating at the coffee table.

Then, you'll never guess where we went…. we got crazy and went to Broadway...again! Apparently we can't get enough country music, one day we are gonna have to venture out to other parts of Nashville, but for now we are claiming our stompin grounds, I mean street.  I found myself in the exact scene from Footloose last night, it was awesome. We are at the 2nd Fiddle and the band starts playing the theme from Footloose. We were in the scene where they drove 2 hours away to dance at a country bar and I was Sarah Jessica Parker who is with her man, who doesn’t like to dance. The band started playing and everyone gets up and starts dancing, I was sitting there slappin my knees, chompin at the bit, wanting to go dance with some strangers. Chris looks me, I jumped up outta my chair, kissed him on the cheek (just like in the movie) ran up to the dance floor and busted out the moves from the movie and acted like I was dancing next to Kevin Bacon. If I had worn a bandana around my neck it woulda been perfect! Gotta love an impromptu opportunity to reenact a classic!

Next date is already on the books, we are going hiking Saturday (this time I actually know the guy and won’t worry about being kidnapped, never to be heard from again like the great idea I once had to go on a blind date in the mountains).

After hiking we are heading to Brandy’s to burns a couple of trees, last bon fire before the pool. I told Brandy that he could do the heavy lifting and they could discuss the joys of adultery (which is what ended both of their marriages). So me, him and her are gonna hang in the country while I get the tell all, be all opinion of the top dog in my advisory panel on Red Flag LOL Chris.

day 204 ding ding dong

I have been stressing out about the fact that I mailed my car payment in and it hasn't come out of my checking account. I have called the past two days and they are like, nope haven’t gotten it. So the plan was to put a stop payment on the check tomorrow (yes I still write checks). Then I go to write my rent check and what do ya know… that stupid check is all filled and out still in my check book! I mailed them an empty envelope! Geez! Apparently an empty envelope doesn't cut it,  I need constant supervision.
I am going to bed now; I have been cleaning and doing laundry all night getting ready for my dinner date. I told Red Flag that I would dazzle him with my culinary skills, so he is coming over for dinner tomorrow night….. I hope he likes soft tacos! Then we are going downtown to listen to some music.

Oh and having the fear of another boy finding out I have a blog has me worried. So I Googled myself today and dangit it, my blog came up! It shows the post when I said the word Google in it, I guess that triggered it. So I guess this post will be on Google too. I can't have another boy that I am talking to read about himself no mo! No whammys no whammys (hopefully not everyone does research on prospects).

day 203 hanging up socks

I keep forgetting to bust my Mom's chops a little. Her sweet little self, folded a huge pile of clean clothes while I was at work when she was here. I crack up every time I go into my closet, my old T-shirts are hung up, my comfy pants are on a hanger, my workout clothes are carefully hung like a 3-piece suit. Every time I can't find something, I know it’s hanging in the closet, but why stop there…let’s get some socks on a hanger! (Thanks Mommy :)
I have turned up the sarcasm via text...I think I need to reel it in a bit, just a tad, otherwise my name might be Red Flag in his phone. He has agreed to come help me investigate the people on the ceiling, they are getting worse, it sounds like a couple of Clydesdales getting restless in their stalls. If we can find an access panel he is gonna go up there with his night vision goggles and if not, I told him that I have a drill if he has a periscope. We are going to get to the bottom of this one way or another. It will be a team building exercise.

Well I am crashing out, watching the Voice, drinking Hyssop and Valerian tea; it’s relaxing, all I need now is an afghan and some slippers.

day 202 blackened banana

Man oh man! I just made this gorgeous salmon salad; started pouring on the dressing and it comes out like lava at top speed! My poor salad was drowning in Lite Vidalia Onion Dressing with no fault of my own.  I did some cussin and managed to spoon some of it out, but it was still a little juicer than I like.
Productive Sunday! I slept like Rip Van Winkle yesterday, so my energy level was a little more than expected on a Sunday. Church, groceries, cleaning, gym, found the missing banana, solved the mystery of the fruit flies in my linen closet. How in the heck does a banana wind up on a shelf and under folded clothes? I have no idea, but the banana smell was very confusing for about a week.

Red Flag and I have been texting all weekend, he says that he has met his match because my "sarcasm is relentless" well that’s the charm in me, take it or leave it :) He tried to tell me that Easter Sunday was moved up to today when I told him I was going to church. He made me do a quick double-think as I Googled this alleged news bulletin...hahaha...don't make me think I am crazy on April Fool’s Day!

Got a strange call from an alarm company today telling me that Sarah’s house alarm is going off! And she has me down as her emergency contact. She is out of town and well so am I, the burglars have the green light! Turns out it was just her realtor, her house is on the market and she set off the alarm (maybe someone else should take my spot girl; it’s a lot of pressure to save the day from another state).

That is all; I gotta decompress and watch Blake "ooohh lala" Shelton host the AMC's.
